Challenge
A previously formed return entered the space beside the upper tool during a later bend. A straight-sided punch did not provide the clearance required by this part geometry.
Approach
The custom gooseneck body moves the upper tool away from the interference area while retaining the required working nose. Final relief must be checked against the full profile, sequence, interface and forming load.
Outcome
The records show positive feedback on production media, tooling sections during uncrating and the custom upper tool later installed with the formed return inside the relief. They do not verify dimensions, tonnage, accuracy, repeatability, cycle time or tool life.
